As seen on our Instagram, crafting the Titanium Edition was no easy feat. Here is a look at what went into making the tool in your hand:
- Chewing Through Tooling: Grade 5 Titanium is incredibly tough. We had to drastically drop our CNC machining speeds and use specialized tooling just to keep our drill bits from shattering under the stress.
- The Stonewash Finish: The stunning matte finish on your pen isn't painted on. Every titanium body spent hours tumbling in specialized ceramic media to achieve that perfect, scratch-resistant stonewash that hides daily wear and tear.
- Precision Laser Etching: Engraving the subtle "Ti" badge and logo on the back required highly calibrated laser ablation. We spent days dialing in the exact wattage and speed to mark the titanium barrel with a perfectly reflective shine.
Pro Tip: Your titanium body will develop a natural patina from the oils in your hands over time. You can wipe it down with a bit of isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to restore its factory matte finish, or let it age to create a character that is distinctly yours!
