Update (August 20, 2025):

Hey everyone, here’s where we’re at this week!

• Every single Massive Nut and Nutsack has been manufactured, assembled, and boxed! They’re now loaded up on pallets officially on their way to our warehouse (~1 wk).
• Once inventory arrives and clears inbound checks, shipping will kick off in batches. This is the final step before we can all begin nutting together!

Update (August 6, 2025):

We're excited to share a big milestone - edges are complete and final assembly/pack-out has officially begun for the Massive Nut! Finally!

Production Updates: 

Nutsack: 100% complete and ready to go

Edges: 100% complete and ready to be packed

Shipping:

We expect to begin shipping to backers later this month in batches (likely the last week of August). When we get closer, we’ll send out a reminder and give everyone a chance to review and update your shipping address before your items goes out. No need to message us just yet. We’ll make it easy when the time comes.

Update (July 23, 2025):

We’re back with another quick progress report. A lot of key components are crossing the finish line as we head into the final stretch of production. Here’s where everything stands:

Production Summary

Standard Aluminum Hubs: 100% complete and passing quality checks.

Titanium Hubs: 100% complete, passed QC, and ready for pack-out.

Packaging: 100% complete and just delivered to our pack-out location.

In progress

Nutsack Production: 50% complete; moving slightly slower than expected but steadily forward.

Edge Finishing: 25% of file plates have gone through the full process of hardening, coating & finishing. This is the most intricate step and we’re making sure it’s done right for maximum durability and function.

Every step brings us closer to shipping and we’re working closely with our manufacturers to keep the momentum going. We’ll be back with more progress and photos as we approach the final stretch!

Update (July 9, 2025):

Quick progress update as we move closer to final assembly!

Titanium Parts - COMPLETE: Wooo! All titanium hub components have officially wrapped machining and passed QC! These are now prepped and are currently being staged for final assembly. 

Standard Aluminum Hubs - 80% Complete: Production of the aluminum hubs is almost done and on track to finish in the coming week!  These are moving through CNC in batches to maintain precision and consistency.

Packaging - Done & Ready: Packaging production is officially complete! All boxes, foam inserts, and protective materials are ready to be shipped to our final pack-out location.

Despite the unforeseen delays and last-minute engineering design revisions, things are still moving forward steadily, and we’re working around the clock to get everything done right. We’ll be back in another two weeks with more updates as we enter the home stretch.

Update (June 25, 2025):

Crazy stuff happening in the world since we last talked, huh? Anyways, we’re back with another Massive update, and we’re excited to share that key parts of The Massive Nut are officially in mass production! 

Hub Machining in Progress

Mass production of the aluminum and titanium hubs have been underway and are actually almost complete! This phase involves CNC milling each hub to precise specs to ensure perfect fitment with the hardened steel Edges. We’ll be monitoring QC closely throughout the process to ensure consistency across every unit. 

Edge Grit Photo Update
Speaking of Edges, we’ve had a few requests to show a side-by-side of the most coarse and least coarse file edges, since our last photo was clearly taken with a potato - so we’ve included an updated photo below. These samples reflect the actual grit range you’ll receive in your final Massive Nut which are dialed in for practical, real-world use across everything from wood to metal.

Nutsack: Final Samples Approved

The final leather Nutsack samples have been made and they’ve officially been approved for production. After a long back-and-forth to resolve cosmetic inconsistencies, we’re happy to report the finished product looks and feels great. Full production is now underway, and we’ll continue to monitor quality throughout this stage as well. A photo of the final sample is attached for a first look.

Packaging and Assembly Prep

All packaging components are being manufactured in parallel, and we’ve started prepping our assembly and fulfillment workflows to stay on track for July arrivals. As components begin arriving at our facility, we’ll keep you posted on the buildup to final assembly.

Update (June 11, 2025):

We’ve got a few important updates to share regarding production and shipping. Let’s dive in:

First, the bad news:

Shipping Update: New Estimated Delivery in August
Despite our best efforts to stick to our original June/July timeline, we’ve made the difficult decision to push the estimated delivery date to August.

This was due to two main reasons:

• Setbacks with the leather Nutsack that took longer than expected to resolve
• We made important engineering adjustments during the sampling phase to improve ease of assembly and disassembly, as well as a smoother spin. 

We know delays are frustrating, but we’re very confident this will lead to a better product experience. Our goal is to create something you'll use and enjoy and use for decades, and in that context, a relatively short delay feels like the right call.

The good news: 

CNC Engineering Tests Approved!
Engineering tests for the CNC-machined components are complete and are fully approved! This includes both the standard aluminum and titanium hubs, as well as test fitment with the hardened steel edges. With all tolerances and accuracy dialed in, we’ve officially started mass production of all hub metal parts.

Nutsack Progress
After weeks of iteration and adjustments, we’ve finally resolved the cosmetic issues that were holding up production of the leather Nutsack. The latest engineering samples are nearly complete, and we’re now finalizing a new mold to get mass production underway. Finally. 

We’re expecting to share photos of the final samples in our next update - for real this time.

Update (May 28, 2025):

Happy Wednesday! We’re back with another progress update and a few important clarifications as we move further into production.

Edge Coarseness Clarification
Some eagle-eyed backers pointed out that the file teeth in our Kickstarter video/photos appear finer than what’s listed in the product description. And yep, that’s accurate. The prototype featured in our early footage used finer cuts. However, through testing, we found that the finest grit didn’t offer much real-world utility. So we’ve adjusted all six edges to be slightly coarser for improved versatility and overall usability.

You can expect the final product’s coarseness to resemble the examples shown below (uncoated).

Edge Shipment & Coating Begins
All completed Edges are now in transit to our coating and processing facility where they’ll undergo finishing treatments. 

Hubs Enter Sampling Stage
Both aluminum and titanium center hubs have entered the sampling phase for mass production. This is where we dial in tolerances, test fitment with the remaining assembly, and ensure everything locks together with that overbuilt feel.

Packaging Mass Production Kicked Off
With the final layout approved (shown in our last update; with some minor adjustments), full-scale manufacturing of the packaging has officially begun! 

Thousands of Hex Wrenches In-House
Minor but satisfying update: the hex wrenches used for assembly/disassembly are now officially in-house and passed our QC checks. One more box ticked, and into the box they go. 

The not-so-good news: Nutsack Issues
Unfortunately, the leather carry case (Nutsack) continues to be a challenge to perfect. Cosmetic inconsistencies in the material have delayed approval of the final production batch. With full transparency to backers, we’re actively working through these issues, but there’s a growing chance the Nutsack may cause a slightly later than expected ship date. We’ll keep you updated and are committed to getting this resolved as quickly as possible.

Update (May 14, 2025):

Packaging Final Design Selected + Edge Coating Tests

After weeks of back-and-forth mockups, test prints, and sample revisions, we’ve finally selected what we think is the coolest version of the Massive Nut packaging. You can check out the final layout in the photo below.

Packaging Design Finalized
We took our time on this because, well, presentation matters. The foam cutouts are custom-designed to hold every component, from the steel Edges and fasteners to the hex wrench and hub itself. Even the insert underneath where the hub will be includes a QR code that links to the full assembly guide. And no, the QR code in the photo doesn't link anywhere, so don't bother trying. 

Edge Coating + Wear Testing
Before applying the surface coating to all 6 file patterns, we're running wear and corrosion tests on several batches (see below). We want to make sure the coating we select holds up for many years of abuse. Once finalized, the selected finish will be applied to all production Edges.

Nutsack Production Update
We’ve hit a small hiccup on the soft goods side. It's nothing major, just a minor materials issue that caused a slight delay. No photos yet, but we should have a full visual update in the next post once the leatherwork is back on track.

Update (April 30, 2025):

Here's a quick progress update!

Edges (File Plates)
Roughly 90% of the hardened steel file plates are now complete. After these are done, they are heading to the CNC mills to cut them into unhardened Edges. This part of the process takes the most time. Once they’re all done, we’ll move into testing for fit and quality tests.

Hubs Still on Standby
The aluminum and titanium hub raw materials are queued up and ready to be machined as soon as the Edges are finalized. Since they take less time to produce, this sequence keeps things moving efficiently. Holders/fixtures are currently being prepared. 

Nutsack Production Started
Our soft goods partner has started producing the leather Nutsacks. Materials and stitching are locked in, and the first run is underway.

Update April 15, 2025:

3 Days Left and Over $100K Raised!

We’ve officially crossed the $100,000 mark, and the campaign wraps up in just 3 days. Absolutely wild. Thank you all for making this project bigger (and nuttier) than we ever imagined.

What Happens Next:

We’ll be sending out address surveys within 24 hours of the campaign ending. You’ll get an email notification when it’s time to fill yours out, and we’ll also post an update here so no one misses it.

Production Update

Here’s where we’re at behind the scenes:

Edges in Progress

The machinist’s files are already being manufactured in bulk, and we’ve started cutting the teeth into the steel bars. Once that’s complete, those bars will be sent to a second facility where they’ll be CNC milled into the signature Edges of the Massive Nut. After that comes the post-processing, finishing, and coating.

Hubs on Standby

The center hubs (both standard and titanium) are faster to machine, so they’re queued up and waiting for the Edges to arrive before CNC production begins.

Packaging Almost Finalized

We’ve narrowed down our packaging samples and will share photos as soon as we select the final design. 

Leather Nutsacks Incoming

Raw materials for the leather carry cases have landed at our soft goods facility. They’re burly and beautiful. Full production starts soon.

Wow. On day one, we’ve achieved our $10K goal thanks to all of you incredible backers! We can’t thank you enough for your massive support. Every pledge, share, and comment means the world to us. The Massive Nut is officially coming to life!

What’s Next?

Now that we’re funded, we’re shifting straight into finalizing production. Our manufacturing partners are already lined up, and we’re working through the last stages of refinement to ensure every Massive Nut meets our exacting standards.
